Michael Chiu, Founder and Managing Director
Michael has spent over 15 years advising businesses on complex strategic, financial and operational decisions across several industries including internet, mobile, software, new media & technology, travel, and food and beverage. He has accumulated experience in performance measurement, financial planning and analysis, business and strategic planning, and incentive compensation plan development.
Prior to founding EdgePeak Consulting, Michael was Vice President of Planning, Analysis, and Finance at IGN Entertainment, a division of Newscorp. Previously he was a Director of Business Operations and Finance at Yahoo, and also held roles in market planning and analysis at AOL and Capital One Financial.
Michael graduated with an MBA from the University of California – Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a BA in Managerial Studies and Psychology from Rice University.
Farbod Farzin, Principal Consultant
Over a 7-year career, Farbod has worked with top internet and media executives, helping them gain insight into their businesses, make more informed decisions, and drive results. He has experience leading business-line planning, forecasting, performance metrics reporting and analysis, business case development, and ad-hoc financial and quantitative analyses.
Prior to EdgePeak Consulting, Farbod was a Senior Manager and business-unit CFO at IGN Entertainment, a division of Newscorp. He managed the day-to-day financial and operational performance measurement for IGN.com, AskMen, IGN Video, the .START YouTube channel, IGN Digital Distribution, and the IGN Prime subscription business. Previously he worked for FOX Sports Interactive.
Farbod graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts in Business.
Kent Scholla, Executive Consultant
Kent has over 20 years of experience in consumer and Internet companies including business development, product development, product management, digital marketing, and advertising roles. An entrepreneur, Kent is the Founder & Managing Partner of Bumblefish LLC, a nationwide pan-Asian food distribution company. Previously, Kent was an Executive Director at AOL, and also held management roles at Citibank, American Express, and BBDO. Kent graduated with an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Kenan-Flagler Business School.
Kalym Lipsey, Consultant
Kalym has significant expertise in survey design, administration, analysis, and interpretation of results. Armed with the results of Kalym’s consumer surveys, both startups and large companies have made better-informed product development decisions, while others have gained insights regarding consumer perceptions of their competitors and customer satisfaction. Kalym has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Marketing / Management from the Waikato Institute of Technology in New Zealand, and is currently furthering his education at Massey University, also in New Zealand.
